COMPANY
Giles Scientific was incorporated in New York City in 1984 and moved to Santa Barbara, California in 1998. In 1984, the BIOMIC® and AutoAssay® computer software based systems were introduced globally after US-FDA clearance to market the BIOMIC System. These systems were designed to facilitate and speed the reading, analysis, and reporting of agar diffusion antibiotic assays for clinical and industrial microbiological laboratories. With 20+ years of research and development, Giles Scientific continues to develop and upgrade its systems with the latest color digital imaging technology.
Since 1985, numerous international publications have appeared on the BIOMIC System documenting its accuracy, consistency, and reliability. In 1994, the BIOMIC Video Image Analysis Plate Reader was introduced to further automate the electronic caliper system. In 1999, these programs were released in Windows versions.
In 2001, the new Vision system and the DigiCounter™ colony counter application were introduced. In 2005, the new V3 digital imaging system was launched with broadly enhanced imaging capabilities and new applications. In 2007, the TRINITY™ V3 Microbiology System was introduced as a complete industrial microbiology system, combining the AutoAssay and DigiCounter applications.
Our systems have enhanced the knowledge, testing quality, and workflow productivity in prestigious university hospitals, public health laboratories, research facilities, and industrial microbiology laboratories in 55+ countries.
