IMAGE ENHANCEMENT

The Enhance Growth feature processes test plate images to help visualize poor or weak growth. This increases the light-dark contrast and highlights fastidious organism growth in a bright blue color. The Enhance Growth feature is most useful with organisms such as Enterococci, Streptococci, Haemophilus species and Neisseria species.

The Sharpen Contrast feature brightens test plate images with optimal contrast settings if bacterial growth or the plate image is too dark to view on-screen. The Sharpen Contrast feature is most applicable with blood agar plates and alpha-hemolytic streptococci.
