The automated D-Test feature is activated when erythromycin and clindamycin disks are included in the user's drug panel, placed on the test plate, and appropriate organism conditions recommended by CLSI are met. When BIOMIC V3 detects a flattening of the clindamycin zone it is displayed on-screen with D+ (see image). These isolates will be reported as ‘clindamycin resistant’ from the Resistance Monitoring Center™
.
