"The BIOMIC V3 is a great asset for our small rural hospital. Giles Scientific has great customer service and is always willing to listen to suggestions. They take the suggestions to heart and I have seen them appear on the next software upgrade. We have been a customer since 2006, during that time the BIOMIC has been dependable. BIOMIC saves bench time because it reads the identification panels and Kirby-Bauer plates so quickly. We can efficiently report patient results with confidence. The yearly upgrades keep you on top of the latest CLSI standards. I like the ability to create custom reports for monthly and yearly patient and quality control reports and I also like the ability to customize the expert rules for our facility. Since they brought media, reagent and ID panel quality control on board, we are almost totally paperless for quality control. I appreciate that I receive a call several times a year just checking on how we are doing. Our pathologist comes here from a large hospital and appreciates that changes can be made if need be, we are not locked into a larger company's settings. "

"Quick and Accurate Etest and QC Reading"
"We use the BIOMIC V3 to read and interpret all of our Kirby Bauers and Etests. It does so quickly and accurately. The system is very user-friendly and the touch screen monitor is a great feature. We store all of our disk lot #’s in the computer, so we no longer have to record them on paper. When running our QC panels, we are able to attach all of the lot #’s and expiration dates of the antibiotic disks to the disks tested for each panel. It is a great way to have everything documented and organized for CAP. The CLSI guidelines are always current. Technical Support (Nik) is outstanding. Someone is always there to take your call, and if they cannot help you at that moment, they get back to you in a timely manner. They also listen to feedback and have included some of our suggestions in their software updates. I highly recommend the BIOMIC V3 for accurate and standardized testing, ease-of-use, and excellent technical support."

"Automated Etest reading and interpretation with BIOMIC V3."
"We have been validating BIOMIC V3 to read all Etest strips including Vancomycin, Penicillin G and Ceftriaxone. ~95% of the plates read agreed within one dilution (erring in the favor of patients.) The other ~5% of plates that required either adjustments or interpretation via a manual method were one's that have difficulty growing ( i.e. mucoid pseudos, VREs... and such). This will allow us to standardize reading and eliminate variability from tech to tech. With all of the Etest MIC values pre-programmed into the software, the results are instantly interpreted on-screen. In addition to its other AST/ID and QC features, BIOMIC V3 will prove to be a big time saver for our lab."

All the many bacterial species with CLSI interpretive guidelines can have a test panel created in BIOMIC. We particulary like the QC program in BIOMIC which includes electronic records for lot maintenance of all our antibiotic discs, Etest strips, and susceptibility test media.
